Great to discover this pocket of greenery tucked in behind and amongst the buildings.

Location: 120 Collins Street, Melbourne (Corner Collins & Russell Streets)
All ability access via St Michael’s Walk.

A beautiful lush plant filled open courtyard space that is predominantly shaded and located behind St Michael’s Uniting Church. I love the decking paths and seating pockets and density of planting which provides enough spacing between seating spaces that you can enjoy some quiet solitude while amongst this thoroughfare courtyard. The timber bench shared tables also look great and I’m looking forward to seeing the canopy growing over the tables.

There’s something really appealing about mass greenery with mixed foliage types that I quite like. I really like that the garden beds are sunken which gives the space another added element of depth.
